Synopsis

"Bright Star" is a musical that tells the intertwined stories of Alice Murphy, a literary editor with a secret past, and Billy Cane, a young aspiring writer. Set in the American South during the 1920s and 1940s, the musical alternates between these two time periods, gradually revealing the connections between the characters. Alice and Billy's lives are marked by love, loss, and the power of storytelling. As they confront their pasts and find forgiveness, the musical celebrates the enduring strength of hope and the human spirit, all set to a bluegrass and folk-inspired score.
